Sneaker culture has always been ahead of its time. Whether in terms of materials or design, athletic footwear has always allowed itself greater freedom to experiment, transcending the years and trends and winning over an ever-growing audience of enthusiasts. Today, technology has surpassed imagination: 3D printing in the fashion world has evolved from a simple laboratory experiment into a commercial reality accessible to everyone. With the new Futurecool, coming next spring, adidas is taking a decisive evolutionary leap. Moving beyond its early experiments with lattice-structured midsoles, the brand has, for the first time, created an entire 3D-printed shoe, designed as a single, seamless monoblock structure.

Built on the innovative Climacool technology, from which it takes its name, the Futurecool boasts a distinctly futuristic design with sculpted proportions, fluid lines, and the iconic three stripes integrated directly into the shoe’s body. The gradient effect of the black stripes creates a sense of movement, and looking at it, one can’t help but think it perfectly embodies the idea of the “shoe of the future.” Its design ensures 360-degree breathability and a seamless fit, engineered to conform to the foot like a second skin. Crafted from high-performance resins and materials, the shoe perfectly balances the flexibility needed for everyday use with the durability typical of traditional footwear.

As Alexander Taylor, SVP of Innovation Design at adidas, explains—as reported by Dazed—this model redefines the very concept of a sneaker, blending advanced engineering and additive manufacturing to offer an aesthetic and fit unlike anything experienced before, designed for those who want a sneak peek into the future.
Fans of the brand will have the chance to get their hands on a pair of Futurecool shoes before the global launch, scheduled for April 1, 2027: adidas will make just 400 numbered pairs available in an exclusive preview, accessible via a raffle on the CONFIRMED app starting today, August 28.
