Chanel’s Spring/Summer collection is being revealed bit by bit: the first sneak peek at the collection

In less than two years, Matthieu Blazy has reimagined the world of Chanel, building not only a new sense of desirability around the French fashion house’s history but also an ever-growing anticipation for what the next chapter will bring. And this is also true for the Spring/Summer 2027 collection, which will be unveiled on October 5 at 9 p.m. Just a few days before the fashion show, the fashion house has unveiled the first teaser images of the collection, shot by David Bailey.

Because if there’s one more thing Blazy has gotten us used to by now, it’s that the anticipation itself has become part of the story. The teasers that precede the collections have become a regular feature that fuels our curiosity and guides us, one image at a time, into the show’s vision. These photographs don’t necessarily focus on clothes—or at least, not exclusively. This time, we see nests, a bird resting gently on a hand, shoes adorned with bows, and hairstyles that seem to transport us back to the French chic of days gone by. These are clues rather than previews—enough to suggest an atmosphere without revealing its meaning.

The world of Chanel reveals itself bit by bit, even before the first look hits the runway, reminding us that this fashion house has never been just about clothes, nor has it ever spoken to just one type of woman. And Blazy did just that, for example, by bringing the Métiers d’Art collection to the New York subway—an everyday, chaotic, and democratic space par excellence—bringing together the exceptional craftsmanship of Chanel with the normality of everyday life. And the strength of Blazy’s work at Chanel, in fact, lies precisely in the fact that it speaks not only the language of fashion, but also that of beauty as it intersects with real life.
