It’s been a particularly busy time. These days are filled with new projects that are just getting started or have already begun. Fresh off the MTV Video Music Awards, Dakota Johnson is one of the hottest names right now. The actress attended the event alongside Taylor Swift—a friend, of course, but also a colleague. Swift directed her in the music video for her new song, “Patient Zero,” in which Dakota stars alongside Colin Farrell.
But there’s another project—this time a movie—that’s set to launch Dakota’s career. We’re talking about “Verity,” a film in which Dakota stars alongside Anne Hathaway, Josh Hartnett, Ismael Cruz Cordova, and Brady Wagner. Based on Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel, it’s a psychological thriller that follows the story of Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer—played by Johnson herself—who moves to the Crawfords’ remote estate to serve as a ghostwriter for the famous author Verity Crawford, portrayed in the film by Anne Hathaway.

And that’s exactly why Dakota is extremely busy with promotional activities. Not just with interviews and premieres, but with other things as well. Because on October 3, 2026, in New York, the actress will host a one-night episode of the famous show—an institution of American comedy—Saturday Night Live. While waiting to appear on the show, Dakota has been spotted in the Big Apple in recent hours. First, she arrived at the Lattanzi Cucina Italiana restaurant in New York for a “Saturday Night Live”-themed dinner, after attending the premiere of “Verity.” For the film-related event, the actress wore a custom all-white Calvin Klein ensemble, consisting of a bralette with thin straps and a long, high-waisted skirt featuring a wide side slit, the outfit was entirely adorned with thin strands of beads and rhinestones that cascaded in delicate fringes along the silhouette. For the dinner, she opted for a midnight blue Valentino cardigan, featuring brown faux fur trim on the edges and sleeves, paired with light blue jeans and black leather ballet flats.
