A special weekend. At the Monza Circuit—but also in Milan, it must be said—and throughout Lombardy, this weekend is one of those marked in red. Especially for motorsports fans arriving from Italy or from all over the world. Because the Italian Grand Prix at Monza isn’t like the others. It represents—and will always represent—something more. This year, there are several additional emotional layers to the event. And the credit perhaps goes to the very Italian Kimi Antonelli, the Mercedes AMG F1 driver who has been leading the world championship standings for weeks. But let’s never forget the patriotic spirit, strictly colored in red and the Italian tricolor. We’re talking about the legend of motorsports, Ferrari, which is once again approaching the Monza Grand Prix as a special occasion this year.
A crowd dressed in red. A prancing horse pulsing beneath the podium. These are scenes that send shivers down our spines and fill us with excitement every year—but we hope they’ll be linked to a victory by one of the two Ferrari drivers: Charles Leclerc or Lewis Hamilton. On Friday at Monza, the two Ferrari drivers got off to a pretty good start, even securing the top two spots in the first free practice session. The car seems to be responding well, even though Russell ended up in the lead during the other free practice sessions. We need to stay confident, and we’ll find out more starting with today’s qualifying. And perhaps another famous fan who might be following the Scuderia’s results this weekend with close attention and bated breath is Irina Shayk.

We’re not crazy for mentioning her name—the Russian supermodel really is back in Italy. This time, she stopped in Monza to enjoy the early hours of the Grand Prix yesterday, Friday, September 4. “The same speed I usually drive at,” Irina joked in her Stories, showing a few cars crossing the finish line, before taking her place—as an honorary member of the Ferrari crew—in the Scuderia’s pit. Dressed in an all-black leather outfit, Shayk enjoyed the free practice sessions from a prime vantage point, recalling a Vogue photoshoot from a few years ago in which she posed alongside a Ferrari Formula 1 car. Proof that perhaps racing—and more specifically, the Prancing Horse—was meant to be part of her destiny.
